Preschool wooden toys - the classroom supply list, sized per room

Preschool wooden toys are bought by the room: a block corner, a role-play zone, two tabletop areas and storage the children can reach. We supply class-size packs for 3-5 year olds, MOQ from 20 pcs per model, with a 3+ grade and per-model report status stated before quotation.

A preschool room has a fixed floor plan and a fixed number of children. That makes the purchase list predictable: more pieces per area than a home, fewer tiny parts than a toy shop, and storage that matches the height of a three-year-old.

This page is the buying list for a 3-5 room - the eight areas, quantity bands per class size, what a preschool purchasing manager checks before signing a PO, and the documents that travel with a 3+ order.

What a 3-5 room buys

A preschool purchase is a room list, not a product list. The table below is the starting specification for one room; most schools order two to four room packs and keep a shared spare-parts box.

Class size and set sizing

Preschool set sizes follow the number of children who use an area at once, not the total roll. A block corner is usually built for 4-6 children, a tabletop game for 2-4, and a role-play zone for 3-5.

Safety and age grading for 3+

  • Products are designed for 3+ and up; no item in the range is graded below 3.
  • Small parts are labelled with the choking-hazard warning where the 3-6 rules require it.
  • Knobs, wheels and handles are tested for pull and torque as part of the model test scope.
  • We can share the report status per model and the age-grading rationale before you order.

Preschool purchase terms

  • MOQ per model from 20 pcs; room packs mix models in one order.
  • Stock 7-15 days; production 30-45 days after sample sign-off (typical).
  • FOB Ningbo. EXW and DDP destinations quoted on request.
  • Typical terms: 30% deposit, balance before shipment. PO and invoice wording can follow your finance team.
  • Spare parts and a term top-up can ship with a reorder to save freight.

What to send for a room quote

  • Room type and number of rooms.
  • Age band and total roll, plus the number of children in each area at once.
  • Destination market and whether you need EU or US report scope.
  • Target delivery date and whether the order ships with a larger mixed container.

Where it goes in the room

  • Block corner: 100-150 unit blocks for a 12-16 child room, stored on low open shelving sorted by shape.
  • Role-play zone: one kitchen or home corner set plus two prop sets, rotated each term.
  • Fine-motor table: threading, lacing and sorting trays, 6-8 trays for a full room.
  • Book and quiet corner: low shelf, one tray per activity, soft storage for loose parts.
  • Outdoor covered area: larger climbing and balance pieces that come inside in bad weather.

What a purchasing manager checks

  • Does the pack match our room size, and what is the piece count per area?
  • Which pieces are small enough to need a small-parts warning, and how is it labelled?
  • Is the storage low enough for a three-year-old to reach without climbing?
  • Are edges rounded and finish water-based, and is that finish in the tested configuration?
  • Can we reorder the same models next term and add spare parts to the same order?

Questions buyers ask

How many pieces does a preschool room need?
For 12-16 children, plan 100-150 unit blocks, 6-8 manipulative trays, 4-6 tabletop games, one kitchen plus two prop sets and 2-3 storage units. A 20-24 child room roughly doubles the block and game counts.
What age do the toys start at?
Every model we supply is graded 3+ or higher. A set takes the strictest grade of its parts; anything with a small part carries the matching warning label.
Do you supply per-room packing lists?
Yes. A room pack is quoted with model numbers, piece counts and carton data so the delivery can be split by room on arrival.
