Wooden classroom storage and furniture for group use

Classroom storage is what makes the rest of the range usable: low shelving a child can reach, carts that move a block set between rooms, and dividers that define a zone. We supply wooden storage and furniture sized for 3+ rooms, with anti-tip anchors and replaceable castors, MOQ from 20 pcs.

Teachers judge storage by two things: can a three-year-old reach it, and can it be tidied by the children? A shelf above shoulder height is adult storage; a shelf at child height is part of the curriculum.

This page covers the storage units we supply, the size table for a standard room, the stability and anchor requirements, and the purchase notes for schools fitting out several rooms at once.

Stability and safety

  • Tall units ship with anti-tip wall anchors; fitting is required, not optional.
  • Shelves are fixed or locked in position; no loose shelf that a child can lift out.
  • Edges and corners rounded; fixings recessed on child-facing surfaces.
  • Castors: locking, replaceable, rated for the loaded cart.
  • Load rating stated per shelf; block carts are rated for a full block set.

Planning a room with storage

  • Start with the areas: block corner, role-play, tabletop, quiet, art, coats.
  • Give each area one storage unit at child height and one adult top shelf where needed.
  • Keep units off walkways and away from doors; anchor anything over 90 cm.
  • Label every unit with the model number and the contents so reorders and tidying match.
  • Add one wheeled cart for every two rooms if block sets are shared.

Buying storage and furniture

  • MOQ 20 pcs per model; large units are quoted per piece.
  • Flat-pack cartons with hardware, instructions and wall anchors included.
  • Stock 7-15 days; production 30-45 days after sample sign-off.
  • Multi-room orders ship with a unit list per room and split carton labels.
  • Replacement castors, shelf pins and anchors are available on request.

Where it goes in the room

  • Block corner: open shelving sorted by shape, with a labelled outline on the shelf edge.
  • Tray storage: low units that hold one activity per tray, matching the Montessori shelf.
  • Block carts: a wheeled cart that lets one block set serve two rooms.
  • Zone dividers: low units that define areas without blocking sight lines.
  • Cubbies and coat storage: one compartment per child, labelled with a name slot.

What a purchasing manager checks

  • What is the height and depth, and is every shelf reachable by a 3-year-old?
  • Does the unit come with a wall anchor, and how is it fitted?
  • Are castors replaceable, and do they lock?
  • What is the load rating per shelf, and how many blocks does one cart hold?
  • Are edges rounded and corners protected where children pass?

Questions buyers ask

What height should classroom shelving be?
The top shelf should sit around 90-100 cm for 3-5 year olds, with the working shelf at 60-80 cm. Units above that are adult storage and need to be out of the play zone.
Are the units anchored?
Yes - tall units ship with a wall anchor and fitting instructions. Low units are stable freestanding but can be anchored if the room requires it.
Can storage match the block set?
Yes. Block carts and shelving are sized around the standard unit block system, and the shelf edge can carry a printed shape outline for tidy-up.
