Wooden toys aligned to ECERS-3, NAEYC and Montessori - a materials mapping table

Curriculum alignment starts with a table, not a claim. This page maps the wooden materials we supply to the ECERS-3 learning areas, NAEYC curriculum standards and the Montessori five areas, so a curriculum committee can see which material supports which learning goal at which age.

The mapping table

Read the row for the learning area you are reviewing, then the material column for the models that serve it. The table is a planning aid; your own curriculum lead decides the fit.

How to use the table in a curriculum review

  • Start with the learning area your review flags, not with the product range.
  • Check the age column against the room you are equipping.
  • Name the material in the room plan so the link to the learning goal is visible to staff.
  • Record which areas are thin and add one material, not a full new category.
  • Repeat the review after a term with staff feedback.

What this mapping is not

  • It is not an endorsement by ECERS, NAEYC or any Montessori body.
  • It is not a claim that a material meets a standard; it is a planning cross-reference.
  • Standards and rating scales are revised - check the current edition before a review.
  • Age grading, not the curriculum row, decides whether a model fits a room.

Questions buyers ask

Does buying these materials improve an ECERS-3 score?
ECERS-3 assesses the environment and interactions, not a shopping list. Materials support the learning areas, but the score depends on how the room is set up and used.
Which standards does the table reference?
The ECERS-3 learning areas, the NAEYC accreditation standards and the Montessori five areas. These are reference frameworks, not endorsements of our products.
Can you map a custom room list to our curriculum?
Yes. Send the room list and the learning areas you are reviewing; we return a mapped list with the age fit per material.
